The Fairgrounds play host to four permanent stage venues perfect for hosting a variety of events including concerts, weddings, dance recitals, comedians or kids' events.
The Susan Knapp Amphitheater is the largest and newest of the Fairgrounds' entertainment stages. The state-of-the-art venue can accommodate more than 5,000 audience members, with seating for 3,000. The facility also features dressing rooms, storage areas and trailer/bus loading docks.
The Anne and Bill Riley Stage is home to the famous Bill Riley Iowa State Fair Talent Search. During the off-season, the bandshell stage is the optimum venue for outdoor events and entertainment. With 500 square feet of stage space and 3,400 square feet of roof area, the venue provides a great balance of shade and natural light.
This structure was built in time for the 2015 Fair and is located west of the Cultural Center. The architecturally unique stage hosts a full line-up of free entertainment each year. The facility also includes restrooms, dressing rooms, storage areas, and a loading dock.
Stationed in the middle of one and a half acres of green space dotted with shady trees and beautiful flowers, the Fun Forest Stage offers a colorful venue perfect for a variety of kid-friendly entertainment.
